Scenes from National PB&J Day in NYC

We had so much fun in Union Square celebrating National Peanut Butter & Jelly Day at our Grab a Spoon! event. Our orange food truck was parked on the corner of E. 17th Street & Broadway and drew quite a fun crowd.

Throughout the day, we served a bunch of inquisitive New Yorkers who were eager to find out what grabbing a spoon was all about.

Carla Hall

We kicked off the day with Carla Hall, adored co-host of The Chew, a competitor on Top Chef and Top Chef: All Stars, and author of Carla Hall's Soul Food: Everyday and Celebration.

Creative New Yorkers and visitors alike piled fresh fruit, pretzel pieces, chocolate chips, graham cracker crumbs, honey, rainbow sprinkles, and much more onto spoonfuls of peanut butter to make their own unique snack spoons.

We donated 25,000 spoonfuls (that's about 900 jars!) of peanut butter to Food Bank For New York City, and those who stopped by donated enough money for 1,125 meals!

Thank you, New York, for being Simply Awesome!
