It’s Okay to Love the Other Nut
For diehard peanut butter lovers, the idea of almond butter may sound sacrilegious — a line never to be crossed, a jar never to be opened. But we beg to differ. Our smooth and creamy Almond Butter is made from simple delicious ingredients: non-GMO roasted almonds, sea salt and oil (and never any sugar). If you’ve never tried our almond butter out of loyalty to the OG peanut, we’re here to tell you: it’s okay to branch out. You can love both, it’s not an either or situation!
Here’s why you may want to give it a go. Almond butter is super good for you. Almonds, technically the seed of the fruit of the almond tree, are rich in heart-healthy monounsaturated fats, which help lower LDL (“bad”) cholesterol and raise HDL (“good”) cholesterol. In fact, a two-tablespoon serving of almond butter contains 1/4 more of those good fats than peanut butter. Besides fiber and folate, almonds are rich in a variety of nutrients such as magnesium and vitamin E, which has been shown to slow down the aging of brain cells that might impact memory.
We know cross-contamination is an issue for many nut butter fans. That’s why our almond butter and our peanut butter are made in separate facilities and no almonds are allowed in the peanut butter facility, and vice versa. While you need to follow your doctor’s advice first and foremost, our commitment to separate facilities makes our Almond Butter an appealing option if you’re allergic to peanuts.
Like our peanut butter, almond butter is extremely versatile. It's an easy substitute in a traditional peanut butter jelly sandwich, and tastes great slathered on morning toast and even baked into your Sunday morning Blueberry Pancakes. You should most definitely try it mixed into your favorite yogurt or smoothie for a simple keto snack. It’s also ideal in baked goods instead of traditional peanut butter. Bake a batch of our Almond Butter Blondies, and at least one loaf of our Almond Butter Banana Bread, Of course, a spoon in the jar is just as good with almond butter as it is with peanut butter.
